Danceathon success

This weekend saw the first Durrington High School 24 hour Danceathon become a great success.  The event held 88 students and 12 staff which saw a range of different dances including: Zumba, Bokwra, Ballet and Tap, as well workshops on choreography.

This was the first event of this nature at Durrington High School and was an outstanding success.  As well as raising funds for our Rock Challenge piece it brought the team together as  a whole.  Drama teacher and Rock Challenge organiser Mrs Isham commented “Pupils were pushed to their limits and responded to the challenge in such a positive way.  They motivated one another, praised one another and supported one another throughout the night and day and were a credit to themselves and the school. I have not had that much fun in ages although walking is now a struggle!  Can’t wait for March 2013 – it will be the best entry yet!”

Well done to all students and staff that took part and good luck for creating our Rock Challenge piece this year.

  1. Just fantastic. Well done to all the teachers who were tireless in their ambition to make this a total success. Well done to all the students that stayed awake and danced through the night? Well done!!!!
